Front Porch & Steps: Chicago
This client contacted me to replace their old front porch that was not only very narrow, but was also literally falling apart and coming loose from their building.
By placing the new railings on the outer side of the new porch, they gained more usable space, and now have a strong structure with a modern and visually appealing wrap.
An access door was built into the south end of the deck to easily get to the space underneath.
Before: the original/old porch and stairs.
After: the entire structure was replaced.
After: the new porch railings were placed on the outer side of the support posts to gain as much usable space as possible.
After: an access door was built into the end of the deck skirting.
After: the same clients hired me back for another (interior) project about a year later. The deck and steps look great after being stained!
